What an amazing thought that God dwells within us! When he poured out His Spirit he made it available for anyone who would ask to be filled. He comes in with an indescribable peace and fullness. He brings a joy that words fail us to describe or contain! He fills the deepest longings of our souls.

    He is himself The Comforter and the lover of our souls. He gently leads and guides us closer to him and away from distractions. We sense his nearness and his loving embrace of acceptance and forgiveness. He makes his home within us. We have become the dwelling place of God! What a thought! What a life! Oh, what a Savior!

 I made some chocolate chip cookies the other day and they were all flat and horrible. I’ve made chocolate chip cookies before many times so why the catastrophic failure this time? I thought I knew how to do it so I didn’t read the directions and just winged it. I had all the right ingredients in all the right proportions and even baked them at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes until golden brown. It turns out I missed a step in the preparations and ended up with my chocolate chip cookie craving unsatisfied. Directions. We sometimes don’t like to follow directions because we think we know better or maybe we think we can make it better by adding or omitting a few steps in the process. Like when we put something together from IKEA and we have a few spare parts leftover.      Birds of a feather flock together. Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are. So if your friends jump off a cliff I guess you’ll jump too? We’ve heard these sayings and more usually from our moms! Well mom knows best. Sometimes our kids would come home from school acting like one of their friends. My wife was the first one to point it out.
